The Card
At the beginning of each season, every player receives a "card". This card is a way to give players a bit more control over issues that might otherwise frustrate them - in this case, it's GMs rulings.
Basically put, whenever you disagree with a GMs ruling, you are not supposed to argue with him - you should've made your case already to begin with - but rather, you simply hand in your card.
As a result, the GM that made the current ruling will step back, and another GM of our staff will step in and produce a second ruling on the issue. If the second ruling differs from the first, you will receive your card back, and the second ruling will be kept.
If the second ruling is the same as the first, however, your card will be kept alongside of the original ruling, and you will only receive a new one next season.
Possible reasons to hand in your card can include, but are not limited to, the following:
The card is meant as a way to courteously make your disagreement known and allow it to be reviewed. Do not be upset or argue when the second GM does not produce the hoped for result - we're all trying to work together here. Our staff are also instructed to act professionally about a card being handed in. We will not blindly support another GMs ruling, and if we discuss it with the first-ruling GM, we will also always include you.
You must be able to let it go after 2 GMs have ruled the issue. This is the minimum we expect of our players.
