It has felt a little slow, but I have this feeling that we're actually spread out over a variety of timezones, which can make things feel oddly paced. I'm in GMT, for example.

I have posted the season story hooks for most of you already. The last will follow soon, as I stupidly forgot to sync my workspace.
If the hooks presented do not interest you, do not fret! Just tell me to come up with something else, or suggest something!
Consider this like wrestling: I, the creative, approach the wrestler (you), with a suggested next match (hook) for your characters (PCs). Then your wrestler and other wrestlers (other players you invite in and my villain heels) have to sell it to each other and the rest of the audience.
You are at any point free to decline or suggest something different.
And then John Cena wins anyway.

The pacing is a tad slow, but I'm willing to chalk that up to everyone being so spread out globally.
I haven't been participating much because of irl work and because tbh I had writer's block super hard trying to figure out how to involve my character in the intro scene and failed to come up with anything.

I'll improve my freqency and see if that helps. Other than that, you are about to enter your personal stories! So just pick something fun, and perhaps someone to share it with that fits, and go nuts!
After all, the Intro is a great chance to actually get to know other characters by sight and name!

I would just like to clarify how things go now.
Each player has a plot that you have seeded, which they can invite people along to. Each player may start a plot for their own story, which they can invite people along to. No one can be in more than two(?) stories outside their own at any one time. Everything runs in parallel.
So, I can start setting the stage for either of my plots now?

Correct. The seasonal story is one that is done in close cooperation with the GMing staff. This is basically the overaching plot we prepared - though of course, everyone gets into contact with it on their own angle, tailored to the character in question.
Yes. Character stories are basically your own playground. You can have flashbacks, simultanious events, anything you might think of - this is where you further establish your character. This is also where you have character growth, as you get to set a reward you would like to achieve, like gaining advantages, skills, redemption, and so forth.
Yes. The maximum number of participants in any given character story is 3, and these are invited on a step-by-step basis. You of course participate in your own, but beyond that can participate in 2 others during any given step. So you can run through an entire personal story with a friend of yours, and your own, but get involved in individual steps of 3 different stories during step 1, 2 or 3 each. So during any given step (like step 1), you can be in a max of 3 stories. The seasonal story is seperate from this and does not count.
Everything runs in parallel, but starts in a tandem rythm. First week was seasonal intro. This week is character stories, step 1. Next week we'll continue with the seasonal story. And then character story, step 2. And so on.
At this point, you should post in your personal forum your "general script" for the character story, including wished for rewards, and potentially who you'd like to invite. You have all week to consider plot hooks for the seasonal story and discuss what you'd like to go after, and depending on that I'll start a scene for you next week.

There is a rough "example story" in la morunas forum, where we did an original test-run. If you still have any troubles, look in there.
Otherwise, feel free to get your show on the road. Just make sure you are clear about the goal and what you want to achieve, since that is what I need to approve!

Would continuing to follow up with Mlle Noire be a suitable personal plot, or is that part of the main storyline?

That would be main storyline, hence seasonal plot! EDIT: Though I guess I could make do if the entire interaction with the lady is conducted without the seasonal plot in mind. I.e. if you wish to engage in courtship to raise convince, or be taught to barter by her or her father, and so on. The idea of the personal stories is that it's *your* personal playground with less GM interaction, whereas the seasonal arc is GM interaction heavy. Hence why I do not wish to mix it up too much! EDIT2: But considering the current pace, I'm gonna handwave it. Do as you like, and if you come into season story contact, so be it. Truth be told, I can hardly wait to actually start with the arcs

I'm curious what keeps people from going on with their personal stories and season story hooks. Is the scedule too lax? Motivation too low? Plot not interesting enough?
This week is personal story step 2 time and we barely have a finished step 1 among all players. Or do you just want to take things slow and get arround to it when you do? That would be fine, but I am a bit worried something's wrong on my end.

I've dropped a post for the hook you suggested, but gotten no response.
Still here poking around and hoping the game will still take off..

I tend to be a bit more reactive as a player, and take a while to get to know my character, it's difficult to know what to start with him until I know his personality.
Francois, I have read your start, but think that I wouldn't really get involved. Although I didn't necessarily think of looking into other people's stories uninvited until recently.
Perhaps it would be easier to post up the invites in the OOC forum?

I agree that since this is more cooperative storytelling, we should discuss more on OOC, since we are supposed to have agency on the stories we take part on.

Although I've got the 7th Sea rules, I haven't actually played it with anyone until now, so I'm afraid I may be fuzzy on how things work. Currently I am trying to muddle my way through the royal court with du Surlign. I did read the opening to Francois' story but I'm not sure if my character would fit in with that plot line; if you need another cast member, though, maybe I could contrive some reason to show up!

I must apologize for running this game into the ground.
There's really no way to sweet-talk this. I have failed to keep even the minimum interest, and I will step back and take some time to read through the list of things I did wrong I made for myself. For you, I will open a forum to add to it. If you are still reading this, please do.
