You can discuss your plans about the intro step here!
I'll make a list what people have noted as their reason for being here so far:
La Moruna: Trying to quietly approach Charouse mixed in with the other travellers, to avoid the every-pursuing inquisitorial agents.
Blaise Deneuve du Surlign: Travelling to join L'Empereur's court, as is only fitting.
Alex L. Ehrenwall: Hired caravane guard to cover his travel expenses and make something extra at the same time.
Friederike Kim Bähr: Serving as bodyguard to a noble, in this case Blaise Deneuve du Surlign.
Finn Nibelsang: Is transporting the worlds oldest discovered copypasta to a museum, where it belongs.

I'm planning to have Leonor trying to quietly approach Charouse mixed in with the other travellers, what might not be the wisest choice: she is a Castillian priest on the run of the Inquisition, this can't end well.
In any case, she speaks Montaigne and can handle herself well on social situations - and when the bandits attack.

Amerigo is quite capable in a fight, but I'm not sure if he'd be better served by slipping away quietly - he's not trying to raise too many eyebrows as he enters Charouse.

Perhaps he will be focusing in remaining hidden and/or protecting his identity as we try to fend off the bandits.
And maybe if you get some Complications, maybe they can be related to the guy that is trying to lie low after the attack happens being seen with suspicion - a spy perhaps.

Unfortunately, I may be slightly obvious. The carriage and 3 Wealth of luggage will tend to stand out. But how else is a noble going to join L'Empereur's court to travel?
Although, are any of our more violent types likely to be in the business of bodyguarding? I'm willing to be an employer.

Well, Im not technically a violent type, and most certainly not fitted for a bodyguards, but I imagine Finn will want to mingle should the situation need for it (which it basically seems to be doing very much so).
SOMEONE has to distract some of them to give you guys opportunities to do something stealthy, afterall!
Also Finn likes playing hero. There is that.

Yeah, but why is he coming to the capital and this way?

Alexander will surely just step in front of the caravan and do a big shout to get everybodies attention. As a former army officer he will try to gather the guards present to mount a somewhat reasonable defense

I imagine Friedi has been trying to track those bandits and as soon as they strike for the attack, I will unsheathe my great sword and probably just try to attack some from behind (not very stealthily). I'll just dive into the fight, maybe I will be guided by Alexander at some point (once I am in reach I suppose)

I'm starting to take pity on the bandits.
And preparing to perform last rites.

Priorities, people!
First priority is: Why am I here?
Only after that is answered comes: What will I do now?

Oh I thought we were planning what to do... Well Alex is here because he needs to go to montaigne anyhow. He probably met the caravan along the way and offered to protect them in case of trouble.

Perhaps Amerigo could sneak away and hide amongst the trees, then use rocks and limbs and such to incapacitate the attackers stealthily?

So then I'd be there because I'm bodyguarding a noble
